Arsenal sign Nuno Tavares defender from Portuguese club Benfica. Nuno Tavares has joined Arsenal from Benfica on a long-term contract.

The 21-year-old left-back grew up at Benfica’s academy. The player made his debut for Benfica’s B team in October 2018. He then joined Benfica’s senior team in 2019.

Portugal defender Tavarez’s senior team will make their debut against Sporting Lisbon in the Portuguese Super Cup in August 2019. Benfica won the match.

Nuno Tavares has been a key player in Benfica’s defense for the past two years. He played 11 games in the Portuguese league for Benfica during the 2019/20 season. In all 10 matches, the player was able to place in the first XI. During the 19/20 season, the Portuguese defender has scored one goal and four assists in 11 games.

He played 14 games in the 2020/21 season. Only 7 of them made the starting XI. This year the player was unable to score any goals or assists.
